Now that Toptracer is open we are implementing a new maintenance schedule. This new schedule will allow the driving range to be open all day on Monday. Tuesday the driving range will be closed until 3:00pm for our staff to clean pick the range and then for our maintenance staff to cut the grass. It’s imperative that no one hits balls during this time as any balls that are not picked can damage the mowers blades when we are cutting the grass. We appreciate your understanding as we complete the necessary upkeep to keep the range in top condition for your practice and enjoyment.

The new Toptracer Range features 15 covered bays, each equipped with Toptracer monitors that provide real-time shot data, including distance, trajectory, ball speed, spin rate, and more.
The Toptracer system adds a layer of interactivity, allowing golfers to play virtual games, compete with friends, and even simulate famous courses, making it as enjoyable for beginners and families as it is useful for serious players looking to improve. Covered bays provide shelter from weather, allowing for year-round use. The range is open daily from 7:00 am until one hour before sunset, with range balls available for purchase at the range or golf shop.

On behalf of the club, I would like to thank everyone that participated in this years Member-Member. We hosted 88 members competing to be a major champion. After the completion of Saturday and Sunday’s round, we crowned our champions Michael Green and Jerry Broadway. Member credits have been applied to all the winners accounts and you can now use those credits for golf shop merchandise.

On Friday May 2 at 7:00pm, the club will be kicking off its first major of the year, the Member-Member, with the pairing party dinner. Round one will commence on Saturday morning with tee times starting at 8:00am, and round two will begin on Sunday morning with tee times at 8:00am.
Sunday evening of the Member-Member is one of the most exciting times at the club as we host the annual shootout. Where each low gross and low net winner from each flight will face each other in a head-to-head alternate shot event, ending on #9. We encourage all members to come out and watch the dramatic ending to one of the club’s greatest events.

Looking back on March, we had many small victories at Skybrook Golf Club! The Toptracer Range continues to make progress week by week, and excitement is building for its grand opening. We’re excited to welcome a new face to the Skybrook staff, Deac Dawson, our new Teaching Professional.
Finally, our first event of the year, the Kick-Off Classic, was a success – it was wonderful to see so many familiar faces back in action for a friendly competition.

We are excited to announce our grass driving range reopened on March 1st! While Toptracer Range construction is still underway after progress was delayed due to weather, we are looking forward to seeing golfers down at the practice area once again.
As a reminder, range balls can only be bought in the Golf Shop during this time at $8 for a small bag of balls.

On behalf of the golf club, ownership group, and management company at Skybrook Golf Club, we would like to take this opportunity to let everyone know we have selected a new golf course superintendent.
It is with great pleasure that we announce Chuck Smith has been selected to serve as our new golf course Superintendent. Chuck’s began work on Monday, February 17th and he is excited to take on the challenge of making our playing conditions the best in class in the Charlotte area.
Chuck has over 30 years’ experience in golf course maintenance and agronomy with a variety of facility types including private, semi-private and daily fee. He is a member of the Golf Course Superintendents Association and has strong horticulture and mechanical aptitudes. Chuck received his education from North Carolina State University with a mechanical engineering curriculum and turf grass management.
He most recently served as the golf course superintendent at Tega Cay Golf Club and is currently serving as the Director of Agronomy with Pinnacle Golf Properties covering 13 courses in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia.
Skybrook Golf Club is honored to have a superintendent like Chuck on our team and we look forward to him becoming an integral part of your Skybrook experience. Chucks knowledge and experience will be at the forefront as he works passionately to achieve our goal for Skybrook of being best in class and a wonderful place we call home.
