HUNTERSVILLE, NC (Skybrook Golf Club) —

Next week, the club will host its second major of the year, the Member-Guest Championship, taking place Friday, September 12th through Sunday, September 14th. During this time, the golf course and Grill will be reserved exclusively for tournament participants.

For those who would like to play elsewhere that weekend, our staff will be happy to assist you in scheduling a reciprocal tee time. Please contact the Golf Shop at 704-948-6611 for arrangements. The driving range will remain open Friday, September 12 from 10:00am to 3:00pm, and Saturday and Sunday from 10:00am to dusk.

One of the highlights of the event is the Championship Shootout on Sunday evening, always an exciting and dramatic conclusion to the club’s largest tournament of the year. We encourage all members to come out and cheer on the finalists. Golf carts will be available for those attending. We look forward to a memorable weekend and appreciate your support of this special event.

The 2025 Member-Guest field is currently full with 66 teams and 2 alternates, but registration remains open. As we approach this year’s premier event, we anticipate a few withdrawals and are looking to expand the alternate list. Now that Toptracer is open we are implementing a new maintenance schedule. This new schedule will allow the driving range to be open all day on Monday. Tuesday the driving range will be closed until 3:00pm for our staff to clean pick the range and then for our maintenance staff to cut the grass. It’s imperative that no one hits balls during this time as any balls that are not picked can damage the mowers blades when we are cutting the grass. We appreciate your understanding as we complete the necessary upkeep to keep the range in top condition for your practice and enjoyment.

On behalf of the club, I would like to thank everyone that participated in this years Member-Member. We hosted 88 members competing to be a major champion. After the completion of Saturday and Sunday’s round, we crowned our champions Michael Green and Jerry Broadway. Member credits have been applied to all the winners accounts and you can now use those credits for golf shop merchandise.

Congratulations to our 2025 Member-Member Champions Jerry Broadway and Michael Green! Their final score of 12 under par in the first flight was good enough to get them into the head-to-head alternate shot shootout which they won to become champions.

On Friday May 2 at 7:00pm, the club will be kicking off its first major of the year, the Member-Member, with the pairing party dinner. Round one will commence on Saturday morning with tee times starting at 8:00am, and round two will begin on Sunday morning with tee times at 8:00am.

Sunday evening of the Member-Member is one of the most exciting times at the club as we host the annual shootout. Where each low gross and low net winner from each flight will face each other in a head-to-head alternate shot event, ending on #9. We encourage all members to come out and watch the dramatic ending to one of the club’s greatest events.

Looking back on March, we had many small victories at Skybrook Golf Club! The Toptracer Range continues to make progress week by week, and excitement is building for its grand opening. We’re excited to welcome a new face to the Skybrook staff, Deac Dawson, our new Teaching Professional.

Finally, our first event of the year, the Kick-Off Classic, was a success – it was wonderful to see so many familiar faces back in action for a friendly competition.

We are excited to announce our grass driving range reopened on March 1st! While Toptracer Range construction is still underway after progress was delayed due to weather, we are looking forward to seeing golfers down at the practice area once again.

As a reminder, range balls can only be bought in the Golf Shop during this time at $8 for a small bag of balls.
